According to National Geographic, no one knows why blue-footed boobies have blue feet, but it definitely makes them stand out from the crowd. In the Galapagos Islands, where bluefeet founder Lilli Cloud met them, these birds are a major tourist attraction. Souvenirs sporting boobies may outsell even those items featuring the famous Galapagos tortoise.
Boobies use their blue feet to attract a mate. During the courtship ritual, the male flaunts his blue feet by sticking them up in the air, spreading his wings, and stomping in a sort of booby mating dance. Although you may not want to go that far, you do need to attract some attention to be successful in this world.
