We put our bodies on a diet. Why not our brains? This is the motivation for our optimism playlist.
Here’s proof that optimism rules. That it’s good for business. And music, of course, improves health and well being.

Maura Murphy-Barrosse, Gal Friday / Singer
What do you do:
– For work?
By day I’m your Gal Friday – handling basic business administration, social media management, event production, research projects, light bookkeeping… I take care of the daily details so you can focus on the larger picture.
By night I’m Ms. Maura – performing live with bands throughout Southern California and recording vocals for a variety of musical projects in the studio.
… for fun?
Conscious consumer research. I love delving into the interwebs to find the most ethical and sustainable options for our everyday needs.

“Upside Down” by Paloma Faith
Why did you pick this song? What does it do for you?
It makes me dance! When this song comes on while I’m walking around my neighborhood, I can’t help but add a little groove to my stride.
And it’s inspiring! I often live in a world of mighty expectations confined by regimented time frames, so I welcome the reminder to be more mindful and flexible in my daily actions.
It feels sometimes this hill’s too steep
For a girl like me to climb
But I must knock those thoughts right down
I’ll do it in my own time
Where can we find you?
