Francesca Maria – “Zumba High” (song starts at 2:35 in the video below)
Why did you pick this song? What does it do for you?
This song inspired me to keep going when I was undergoing chemo. It got a positive music and lyrics. Life offers us many possibilities; we just need to be open to listen to it. Even when we encounter bumps on the road, we have the power to turn things around and use the experience to better ourselves.
Anything else you want to say?
I get my high when I dance. Zumba gave me that opportunity. I’m so fortunate that I am able to dance and feel the energy. I appreciate waking up every morning and being able to smell the freshness of the air, being able to taste the sweetness of orange juice. This is what life is all about. It’s not about getting ahead at work, or getting a promotion. It’s about appreciating now. It’s about appreciating the beauty that’s around us. Life is so precious and also short, we need to make it the best that we can—experience as much as possible, make unforgettable memories, meet people that can help us grow and become better human beings. Optimism is defined as being hopeful and confident about the future, successful outcome of something. We must all believe this is true because we are living it. Look around you and appreciate all the colors that nature provided. This is how Zumba high makes me feel!
